SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES
UV’s Summer Ventures Program is a full-day program designed to prevent summer learning loss & make academic gains during the summer.
“I Can” Volunteer
Work alongside UV staff and HS students to help facilitate group discussions regarding communication, finances, conflict resolution, discipline, time management, resume writing & interview skills.
Specific Days: Mon-Wed (June 24 - Aug 8)
Time Commitment: 8:45am - 11:30am
Book Fair + Prize Day Volunteers
Students will be rewarded for reading. They will receive points based off of the number of minutes they’ve read over the Summer. They’ll then be able to spend those points on prizes and new books!
Specific Days & Times:
July 11th II 12:30pm - 4pm
July 25th II 12:30pm - 4pm
Aug 8th II 8:30am - 1:30pm
“Peak Performance” Volunteer
Work alongside UV staff and HS students to help them gain leadership skills, learn about habit changes, time management, healthy coping mechanisms and more.
Specific Days: Mon-Wed (June 24 - Aug 8)
Time Commitment: 8:45am - 11:30am
Summer Clean Up Day
Starting on June 24th, our campus will be bustling with 120 students in our Summer Ventures program, that’s why we figured this would be a great time to clean up our neighborhood!
That’s why we invite you to help spruce up our neighborhood with a Summer Clean Up Day!
Specific Date: Saturday, June 22
Time Commitment: 10am - 12pm
WORK WITH YOUTH
Youth Mentoring
We are looking for people who want to invest in our Middle + High School students. Mentors are important in helping build up and guide teens educationally, emotionally and spiritually.
Specific Days/Times: Tuesdays 4pm - 5:30pm - Tutoring
Thursdays 5pm - 7:30pm - Mentoring
Mon Morning Childcare
We are looking for volunteers to help this Spring/Summer with childcare as adults attend Support Groups on Mondays. These individuals will learn new tools to better support their families.
Specific Days: Mondays II Mar 4 - June 3
Time Commitment: 10am - 12pm
WORK WITH FOOD
Farm & Nutrition
This program provides fresh produce, along with nutrition + cooking education to families, who live in Minneapolis food deserts.
We have a huge need for volunteers at our Lakeville Farm from Mondays - Thursdays between 9-12pm!
