Boys and Girls of all skill levels are welcome to participate in the Urban Stars program. You will have the opportunity to learn the skills involved in the sport and then compete at your own age level. Our team is for athletes ages 9-16. The season begins in April and continues to mid-July. Indoor practices will be held at the newly opened Colin Powell Youth Center and outdoor practices at Minneapolis South High School Track. Events include: shot put, long jump, high jump, turbo javelin, 100, 200, 400, 800, mile run and relays.
The season will be comprised of five regular season meets in Minneapolis with a City Championship Meet offered to those who qualify. A State USATF Meet is also offered. The team is coached by high school and college coaches.
