Summer is a vulnerable time for low income, inner-city kids. Each day, they are prime targets for gangs, drug dealers, and other negative influences. Knowing that young people need a safe, and structured environment to thrive, Urban Ventures offers summer enrichment classes and opportunities to keep students positively engaged and productive during the summer months. We call it Summer in the City.

Summer in the City is designed to offer kids a glimpse of something different - activities that stretch them out of their comfort zone and open their eyes to new skills and interests. Students have opportunities to paint, grow a garden, tour the city, skateboard, write poetry, play tennis, practice public speaking skills and much more.

Summer in the City camps run from June 18 to August 9. Camps are open for students entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade, and are held Monday - Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Lunch is provided, and transportation is available. The cost is $5 per youth, per week ($25 camp per family).
