Programs
Colin Powell Youth Leadership Center

The over-arching goal for the Colin Powell Youth Leadership Center, is to help each youth involved in our programs graduate from high school and to go on to a post-secondary experience of higher education or training. The CP Center is being built in partnership with the Cristo Rey Jesuit High School founded and sponsored by the Society of Jesus (a Catholic order of priests and brothers known as the Jesuits). The school will serve low-income families of any faith or culture who desire a religiously supportive, Christian value-centered, education for their children.
Urban Stars Athletic Program

More than 500 boys and girls, ages 5-18, participate in basketball, soccer, track and field athletic leagues, tournaments and camps. As these young people interact with staff and team coaches, they are taught life-skills that will serve them far beyond their days of sports activity. Youth receive excellent instruction and play at superior facilities, such as our full-sized soccer field, Kix Field. Athletes also have opportunities to participate in development clinics with professional athletes from local teams like the Minnesota Thunder soccer team.

The Learning Lab

The Learning Lab is a year-round, comprehensive academic support program for students in the first through twelfth grades. Working in partnership with local schools, The Learning Lab effectively helps students to increase their academic performance by offering after-school homework programs, on-site tutoring, pre-testing for Minnesota Basic Skills tests and assistance with college preparations.

The Hub

At Urban Ventures, our youth run the risk of falling into someone else's dead-end plan on a daily basis. Mark-Peter Lundquist, Director for the Urban Youth Hub, recently reiterated that fact when he stated that “These kids are on the fence between a world of pimps and gangs and the positive opportunities we provide.” The challenge of saving our kids from the negative opportunities in our neighborhood is great, but the promise shown by the kids who choose the positive opportunities is even greater.
GoLatino!

GoLatino! hosts events and administers programs for families and youth that empower the Latino community and encourage its members to build hope, stability and a positive future. This includes hosting a Mexican Independence Day which annually hosts 25,000 participants. GoLatino! also coordinates efforts to strengthen LaVictoria's youth program and the Wednesday night Latino Family Time program.
