Family Time is a program that provides an opportunity for
families to spend ”time together” with their children
while gaining knowledge and training to help raise successful
children and strengthen their family. The goal of the program
is to provide parenting education and training to fathers
between the age of 18 and 30 years of age who reside in the
City of Minneapolis. We also invite the mothers to participate
in the parenting program with the fathers and their children.
Our approach is to provide education and training that might
increase the parents knowledge and skills in the following
areas: Understanding their role as parents, Understanding
child development, Setting limits and boundaries, Communication,
Understanding appropriate ways to discipline /punish and Learning
ways to reward good behavior.
Family Time Program offers parenting classes on Wednesday
evenings for Spanish-speaking families, and Thursday evenings
for English-speaking families. The classes meet on both nights
from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. dinner and childcare is provided.
