People in our communities run the risk of falling into someone
else’s dead-end plan on a daily basis. The challenge
of saving our urban communities from the negative opportunities
in the neighborhood is great, but the promise shown by the
people who choose positive opportunities is even greater.
The Family Center helps connect people to the positive opportunities
and empower them to make life changes.
Through a number of unique programs and partnerships, the
Family Center worked with more than 5,000 participants in
2006. Support classes through the Center for Fathering and
Women’s Empowerment concentrate on parental direction
and encourage participants to become responsible individuals—both
personally and financially—for the sake of their children.
Family Center programs meet every Tuesday evening from 5:00
pm to 7:00 pm. Dinner and childcare are provided.
